Oh, me?

I’m Alanna Nason. I’m one of the only people on planet earth who thinks Benjamin Franklin was funny. I jumped a train once cause I like to live on the edge. Rory Gilmore will always belong with Jess. And I’ll make you look good like it’s my job. Pinky swear.

So here’s the deal. I’m a photographer because I have this desperate feeling that I want to remember things forever. I want to remember the way I played with my bangs all the time when I had them, or how my little cousin snuggled with me on the couch after thanksgiving dinner, or the way someone was when they existed. Maybe it’s the way my first adult apartment looked. Or that sunset I never want to forget. But for me it’s all about the moments. Just…hoping to remembering everything.

I’ve kinda done a little bit of all kinds of shooting, and I never think of myself as an expert, because I’m still learning. Like a ton.

There’s a lot more photographers out there in the world than there were when I decided I loved all of this, and it can be overwhelming sometimes. I took a break from photography for a little while, because burnout is real and running a business is harder than it looks and it’s easy to feel unneeded in a space so overrun with options. Even still, photography is honestly a huge part of why my heart beats. I just genuinely love it.

So I’ve decided to photograph things and learn and grow and not expect myself to go from zero to perfect. And most importantly, I’ve decided to take on photo sessions that make me feel something.

And that’s some good advice. I think you should choose a photographer whose work makes you feel something. It’s not about the edit, or the filter, so much as the soul behind it.

I REALLY REALLY LIKE COFFEE.

I DANCE KINDA LIKE TAYLOR SWIFT.
